Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Operations & Training Deputy IPT in Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA. This 100% onsite role may follow a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, depending on program needs.

As a Staff Operations & Training Deputy IPT located in Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position has the opportunity to work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off, depending on program needs.

Job responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Managing multiple teams and ensuring goal setting and tasks are in-line with IPT vision
  • Resolving blockers and personnel issues
  • Ensuring resource allocations are sufficient for tasking and identifying areas for efficiency or enhancement
  • Setting and maintaining high team morale across the IPT
  • Working with customer representatives to address concerns and facilitate conversations on topics of interest
  • Oversee special projects and upgrade efforts for the teams
  • Formalize and enforce process structure and ensure work scope is bound within SOW to prevent scope growth
  • Identify areas for business growth and cultivate a strong working relationship with teams and customers

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications for Level 5:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 10 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 7 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Top-Secret [TS] security clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) [TS/SCI] at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval/access within a reasonable amount of time [US citizenship required]
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple teams
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience with Spacecraft Operations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with developing and providing training related to on-orbit spacecraft operations
  • Experience with on-orbit spacecraft anomaly resolution and root cause corrective actions investigations
  • Past military service experience, preferably in Space Force or Air Force
  • Experience with spacecraft-related training programs
  • Expertise in technical disciplines such as orbital propagation and perturbations, orbit estimation, orbital maneuvers, modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with astrodynamics tools, including FreeFlyer, System Tool Kit (STK), NASA General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT), and Orbit Determination Toolbox (ODTBX)
  • Advanced Orbital Mechanics knowledge and experience

Primary Level Salary Range:

$161,000.00 - $241,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
