Job summary

University of Iowa HealthCare is seeking an 80-100% Float Staff Nurse for the Iowa River Landing clinics (Urology, Allergy, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Podiatry). You will assess patients, ensure care standards, and contribute to a multidisciplinary clinic team in Iowa City.

The role requires an Iowa nursing license, an appropriate nursing degree, and strong communication skills. The position includes a regular Monday–Friday 08:00–17:00 schedule with a comprehensive fringe benefits

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN) is required.
• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting is desirable.
• Experience working with EPIC is desirable.
• Previous triage experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate patient responses.
• Responsible and accountable for the provision of care for patients.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality and serve as a patient advocate.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Support direct patient care including but not limited to rooming, vaccines, and assisting with in clinic procedures.

Description

The Iowa River Landing Clinic is seeking an 80% - 100% Float Staff Nurse for our IRL Clinics (Urology, Allergy, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Podiatry). The Staff Nurse is charged with the responsibilities of assessing patients’ nursing care needs, evaluating effectiveness of care provided, integrating nursing theory, and ensuring patient care standards are met.

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• Apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate patient responses.
• Responsible and accountable for the provision of care for patients.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality and serve as a patient advocate.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Support direct patient care including but not limited to rooming, vaccines, and assisting with in clinic procedures.

Percent of Time: 80 - 100% (based on candidate preference)

Schedule: Monday –Friday from 0800–1700
