Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems in Great Barrington, MA, is seeking a Staff RN to provide individualized nursing care for a defined patient group within the ED. The RN will use established care protocols and coordinate with patients, families, nurses, physicians and allied health staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Required is an RN license in Massachusetts and an Associate's degree in nursing; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
• RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
• Ability to function independently under general guidance of the Director and follows the guidelines and protocols and/or policies and protocols specific to each unit.
• Duties require independent action and judgment. Utilizes time management, communication, planning, delegating, and problem solving in providing care.
• Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
• Must maintain emotional stability in emergency settings.

Job description

The staff RN is a registered, professional nurse who is responsible for providing individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. The staff RN has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of the patient population served. The nurse coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians and allied health care providers. Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience:

Education and Training:

• Associate's degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.

License, Certification & Registration:

• RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts

Other Addendum(s) Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in ED preferred.
• ED Triage/Cardiac Room experience preferred.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within one year of hire.
• CPR
• ACLS required within three months of hire.
• IV Qualifications required within six months of hire.
