Tfhd in Truckee, CA seeks a Staff Nurse for the Emergency Room to support seasonal needs. Nights and weekends required. On-site, full-time temporary role with rate of pay around $74.24/hour plus DOE and shift differential.

Functions include independent nursing care for ER patients and contribution to department operations. Must have California RN license and relevant ED experience; TNCC/BLS/ACLS/PALS required or pursued within timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN/CCNE accredited nursing program.
• RN license valid in California.
• 2 years ED experience or 1 year ED + 1 year critical care.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification upon hire or within required timelines.

Responsabilités

• Perform nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Collect and document patient data; interpret data to prioritize care.
• Implement and evaluate individual care plans; monitor patient acuity.
• Provide discharge instructions and patient teaching.
• Maintain effective communication and teamwork; participate in unit growth.
• Standby duties and ski first aid station coverage as needed.

These positions are expected to support our seasonal needs and will be required to work nights and weekends supporting the Emergency Room Department.

Bargaining Unit: EAP

Rate of Pay: $74.24/hour + DOE + Shift Differential (Base pay of $70.71 includes 5% temporary rate)

Summary
Functions independently in performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care for patients’ needs and/or complications of treatment in the Emergency Department.

Minimum Education/Experience
Associate's Degree Degree from college or vocational school from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty.

California Registered Nurse (RN)

• Current employees in this job classification as of 1/1/2023 must obtain their NV RN license by 6/1/2023

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

• Upon hire

BLS/ACLS/PALS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certification).

Required:

Two years current Emergency Department experience as an RN or one year Emergency Department and one year critical care RN experience.

Temporary or seasonal staff may be hired with only one year of Emergency Department or Critical Care RN Experience.
