About This Role

The Staff Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) provides nursing care and services to patients and families, coordinating care activities during the perioperative period. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

What You'll Do

• Utilize nursing process to deliver safe patient care based on AORN standards.
• Demonstrate systematic ongoing data collection and prioritize relevant information.
• Identify and document nursing diagnoses consistent with assessments.
• Develop individualized plans of care and communicate them with patients and healthcare providers.
• Implement nursing interventions in collaboration with patients and document progress.
• Coordinate patient care throughout the perioperative experience and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Facilitate communication between healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
• Evaluate patient progress and monitor effectiveness of interventions.
• Identify emergency situations and implement appropriate measures.
• Ensure medication safety and demonstrate proficiency in care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Follow safe patient handling and infection control policies.
• Accept charge responsibilities as assigned and facilitate room turnovers.
• Provide direct patient care as needed to maintain clinical expertise.
