Job summary

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Telemetry Unit 8B. The nurse provides professional nursing care, uses the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care for patients and families, and delegates appropriate tasks to assistive personnel.

Qualified candidates will have NYS RN license, BCLS and ACLS, and may hold a BSN; new graduates welcome. Proficiency in ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC and Microsoft Excel is a plus and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing highly preferred.
• New graduates accepted.
• One year acute care experience highly preferred.
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and skills.
• Computer application skills – ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft Excel.

The Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry Unit 8B provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s standard of care, and the institution’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• New graduates accepted
• One (1) year acute care experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
