Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to design and build planning systems for autonomous driving in airport airside environments. You will own the mission, behavior, and motion planners and drive the architecture across the planning stack for production deployment.

Collaborate with perception, controls, localization, and systems teams to deliver an integrated autonomous driving system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing planning modules for autonomous systems shipped to production.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ (preferred) or Python and Linux experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and iterate on mission, behavior, and motion planners for autonomous ground support equipment.
  • Drive technical decisions across the planning stack and define robust interfaces.
  • Prototype and evaluate planning approaches and bring best ideas to production.
  • Collaborate with perception, controls, localization, and systems teams to deliver an integrated system.
  • Establish and promote software development and safety practices within the planning domain.
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
