Job summary

Waymo's Simulation Team seeks an experienced ML/CV specialist to enhance labeled data from multi-modal sensors for high-fidelity simulations. You will develop models to improve perception data and work with perception and simulation squads to elevate data quality.

Requirements include a CS degree and 5+ years in DL/ML, with strong CV or sensor fusion background. Preference for a PhD and AV sensor data familiarity. Compensation reflects a base range across US locations and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ (L5) / 7+ (L6) years of applied Deep Learning/ML experience.
• Strong background in computer vision, sensor fusion, or perception.
• PhD degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML expertise to enhance data quality for multi-modal sensor data used in simulation.
• Develop and implement models to identify and correct issues in perception-based data for simulation.
• Analyze data quality, investigate anomalies, and drive improvements in data labeling pipelines.
• Collaborate with perception and simulation teams to refine data requirements and quality standards.
• Lead efforts to address complex data quality challenges and define ML strategies for high-fidelity data generation.
