Job summary

Google seeks a Staff Machine Learning Engineer focused on Search AIGC Quality. You will own AIGC quality control, topic identification, context engineering, and content understanding for AI-generated content across Discover and Notifications.

You will build agentic loops for evaluating factuality, freshness, coherence, and tone to support Google's proactive surfaces. The role emphasizes leadership in ML strategy and low-latency delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 5 years in ML/NLP/relevant field.
• Experience building offline and online quality evaluation for LLMs.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-generated content quality frameworks and agentic flows for Discover/Notifications.
• Develop context engineering and agentic feedback loops for engaging stories globally.
• Conduct advanced quality evaluations using downstream signals to improve AIGC stack.
• Resolve system bottlenecks to optimize low-latency serving of AIGC content.
• Navigate ambiguity and drive innovation in AIGC quality and ML strategy.
