Franklin Energy / AM Conservation in Oakland seeks an entry-level engineer to support energy efficiency and demand side management programs. This role focuses on identifying energy-saving strategies for buildings and communicating findings to clients.

The incumbent will perform site data collection, apply energy analyses, and work with project managers to meet project deadlines and budgets, with up to 25% travel. A BS in engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and other professional correspondence.
• Ability to apply algebraic solutions and statistical analysis to tasks.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and equipment data.
• Ability to apply basic thermodynamic concepts such as system efficiency and energy conservation.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This entry-level Engineer position will provide support for energy efficiency and demand side management programs. The position will focus on energy efficiency programs and strategies to save energy in buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare written analysis of findings and recommendations for energy efficiency, demand response, and self-generation measures for submittal to clients.

• Conduct site inspections and/or gather data needed to perform energy-related analyses of sites or equipment.

• Utilize analytical tools and measurement and verification methodologies to evaluate the performance of energy systems and equipment.

• Interact closely with project managers and clients in order to meet project deadlines and budgets.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Electrical5

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and other professional correspondence.

• Ability to apply algebraic solutions and statistical analysis mathematical operations to such tasks.

• Ability to interpret and understand mechanical and electrical drawings as well as equipment nameplate data and manufacturer specifications.

• Ability to apply basic thermodynamic concepts such as system efficiency and conservation of energy.

Compensation & Benefits

Franklin Energy reasonably expects the starting salary for this position to fall between $30.00 - $35.00/Per-Hour. The final offer will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs.
