Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the technical vision for the Ads Conversion Core Modeling team, building state-of-the-art systems for the global marketplace. You will shape the direction of applied ML projects, design scalable models, and collaborate with product and sales to craft new ad products.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years building production ML systems at scale, 2+ years in leadership, and strong skills with AI coding tools and statistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience building production ML systems at scale (Search, Recommendations, or Ranking).
• 2+ years of experience leading technical projects or teams.
• Experience with Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring.
• Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and engineering workflow acceleration.
• Strong mathematical foundation and experience with statistical methods and A/B testing.

Relocation and Office Requirements

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. It requires in‑office collaboration 1–2 times per month and must be within commuting distance of SanFrancisco, Palo Alto, or Seattle.

Benefits

• Base salary range: $222,716—$389,753 USD (US‑based applicants only).
• Eligibility for equity compensation.
• Additional benefits available upon request.
