Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Infrastructure team in the Google Cloud Compute domain. The role focuses on owning outcomes, solving ambiguous problems, and influencing stakeholders across large-scale distributed systems and compute technologies in Kirkland/Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities include technical leadership, coordinating across teams, and delivering end-to-end software solutions with a strong emphasis on scalability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
