Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Staff Industrial Designer to support our Hand Tools category. In a mid-level role, you will take ownership of your work with increasing autonomy, balancing ergonomics, usability, craftsmanship, manufacturability, and aesthetics that reflect our bold brand language.

You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to develop user-centered design solutions, applying established processes and growing your expertise in DfM and materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of professional design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong creativity and problem-solving.
• Understanding of ergonomics, usability, and manufacturing.
• Experience with hands-on prototyping and testing.
• Familiarity with Milwaukee Tool's VBL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify unmet user needs and opportunities through research.
• Generate product concepts through independent ideation.
• Lead collaborative brainstorming to drive innovation.
• Define project goals and independently execute design development.
• Refine form and function through sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, and testing.
• Support DfM by understanding materials and processes.
• Communicate design intent with visuals and presentations.
• Document design solutions and manufacturing specs.
• Support projects through production to ensure design execution.
