Omnissa is seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer – Staff to drive technical direction for secure software across our product portfolio. This senior role emphasizes hands‑on leadership without direct reports, influencing engineering through depth, patterns, and standards.

The candidate will lead threat modeling, define reference architectures, review code in Java and C++, scale processes with AI tooling and CodeQL, and mature SDL and penetration testing programs while mentoring

Qualifications

• 12+ years hands‑on application security experience with depth and influence.
• Experience leading threat modeling and secure design for distributed/cloud-native systems.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence engineering and product leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for application security across the portfolio and establish standards.
• Lead threat modeling for cloud-native, distributed, and mobile architectures.
• Define security reference designs to minimize per‑feature reviews.
• Identify risk early and influence roadmap decisions before implementation.
• Review Java and C++ code; translate findings into reusable guidance.
• Scale code reviews with AI‑assisted analysis and CodeQL queries.
• Triage external vulnerabilities and drive remediation to closure.
• Translate findings into systemic design improvements and SDL iterations.
• Improve the secure development lifecycle and security review program.
• Mentor engineers and build security training for broader teams.
• Establish metrics to show program effectiveness to leadership.
