Job summary

Strativ Group is seeking a Staff Global Supply Manager in the San Francisco Bay Area to own the welded and fabricated metal category from initial conversations to signed agreements. You will collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain and senior leadership to shape pricing, lead times and supplier terms, while developing partners and driving continuous cost improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of category ownership in metal fabrications, ideally welded structures, with understanding of shop-floor processes and quality standards.
• Comfort with contract structures and commercial terms; decisive on incomplete information; good with people.
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance or similar; US work authorization; and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Own full commercial responsibility for welded and fabricated structural assemblies from first supplier conversation to signed agreement.
• Develop sourcing strategy for metal parts in collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain and senior leadership.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and risk terms; ensure suppliers meet them.
• Develop, qualify and onboard new fabrication partners.
• Drive cost-down through should-costing, benchmarking and design-to-cost with engineering.
• Monitor market capacity, competitor moves, process and materials roadmaps.
• Maintain resilient supplier base as volumes ramp.

Staff Global Supply Manager – Metal Fabrications & Assemblies

CA - Bay Area (Onsite)

We're supporting a fast-growing energy technology company as it moves breakthrough hardware from pilot builds into high-volume production, and needs someone to own how its structural metal gets sourced.

They're looking for a Staff Global Supply Manager to run the fabricated metal category outright. Supplier scouting, sourcing strategy, negotiation, contracting and relationship management all sit with you, and you'll report straight into the head of the sourcing function.

This is strategic sourcing with real authority. You'll be building a category, not maintaining one.

What you'll work on:

• Full commercial ownership of welded and fabricated structural assemblies, from first supplier conversation to signed agreement
• Sourcing strategy for metal parts, built and executed with Engineering, Supply Chain and senior leadership
• Getting the right pricing, lead times and risk terms in place, then holding suppliers to them
• Supplier development, qualification and onboarding for new fabrication partners
• Driving cost down over time through should-costing, benchmarking and design-to-cost work with engineering
• Reading the market: capacity, competitor moves, process and materials roadmaps, supply and demand shifts
• Keeping the supply base resilient as volumes ramp

What we're looking for:

You'll bring 3+ years of category ownership in metal fabrications, ideally welded structures, with a working understanding of the shop-floor processes and quality standards behind them. You're comfortable with contract structures and commercial terms, decisive on incomplete information, and genuinely good with people. Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance or similar, US work authorization, and happy to travel internationally when needed.
