EVgo is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the GL team in California. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the role emphasizes efficiency, accuracy, and a flexible work style as you manage month-end close activities and reconciliations.

The candidate will handle journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, while ensuring proper documentation and internal controls. CPA preferred and 1–2 years of experience are desirable for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA preferred.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and NetSuite proficiency.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and well organized.

Responsabilités

• Prepare journal entries during month-end close.
• Create amortization schedules for prepaids including insurance and software as a service.
• Record accruals such as warranty and professional services.
• Perform journal entries for reclassifications to allocate to departments and locations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate differences.
• Maintain backup documentation for reconciliations and journal entries.
• Assist with month-end flux analysis and disclosures schedules.
• Support audit requests and internal controls compliance.

Position Summary

EVgo is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to support our dynamic and growing business environment. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Staff Accountant will support various tasks of the GL team. The successful candidate will prioritize efficiency and accuracy and have a flexible work style.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of journal entries during month‑end close
• Amortization schedules for various types of prepaids, including insurance, warranties and software as a service
• Journal entries for various types of accruals, including warranty, professional services and other accruals
• Reclassification journal entries to ensure proper allocation to departments and locations
• Other journal entries in conjunction with the month‑end close
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of reconciling differences
• Ensure proper backup documentation is retained for account reconciliations and journal entries
• Assistance with month‑end flux analysis
• Preparation of schedules for financial statement disclosures
• Ad hoc reporting and special projects
• Assistance with audit requests and inquiries from external auditors and other third parties
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies to support rapid growth and expansion of the company

Required Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting; CPA preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years of accounting work experience
• Strong Excel skills (logical functions, nested formulas)
• Experience with an accounting software package; NetSuite proficiency preferred
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Deadline‑oriented with excellent time‑management skills
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing environment with a sense of responsibility and urgency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels and with external customers

Compensation and Benefits

For positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 USD. The company also offers discretionary target cash bonuses, restricted stock units (subject to Board approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance; unlimited paid time off (including parental leave); and a 401(k) plan.
