Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field
• EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 6 months
• 0–5 years of engineering experience
• At least 6 months in a field technician or similar role
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Understanding of construction means, methods and field practices
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization, time management and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a team
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations for commercial, residential and municipal projects
• Assist with foundation evaluations, slope stability, pavement design and earth retention studies
• Plan and support field and subsurface investigations including drilling and boring logs
• Perform and review field and laboratory testing of soils and geotechnical materials
• Analyze data and develop engineering recommendations for review by senior engineers
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation and client deliverables
• Use geotechnical software to support project analysis
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams, contractors and clients
• Support multiple projects while meeting quality, schedule and budget expectations

Position Summary

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to support a variety of commercial, residential, and municipal projects throughout Northern Colorado.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career civil or geotechnical engineer who wants hands-on exposure to field investigations, engineering analysis, report preparation, and project delivery. The role combines office-based engineering work with field assignments involving subsurface investigations, soil evaluation, drilling programs, foundation studies, pavement design, and geologic hazards.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
