Arcadis seeks an Environmental Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Reno, NV or Las Vegas, NV. The role blends field (25-40%) and office work, offering mentorship and growth as you support PMs on baseline surveys, site investigations, permitting, and remediation tasks.

You will collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, and regulators, perform field sampling and drilling oversight, and help prepare technical reports and work plans while prioritizing health and safety in all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science)
• 5 years of experience in environmental geology/hydrogeology
• Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
• MSHA 24 HR Surface Miner

Responsibilities

• Assist PMs in planning and executing baseline surveys, permitting, data evaluations, regulatory compliance, site characterization, investigation and remediation tasks.
• Perform fieldwork at project sites including drilling oversight for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, and subcontractor oversight.
• Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandums; conduct historical data and regulatory research.
• Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, geologists and project teams; communicate with clients and regulators.

Join us to improve quality of life for our clients, communities, and each other.Role accountabilities:As part of this role, you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers (PMs) in planning and executing baseline surveys, permitting, data evaluations, regulatory compliance, environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.Your responsibilities will include office and field work. Field work will often be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) and will offer you an opportunity to plan, coordinate, and oversee various scopes of work including drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, and subcontractor oversight. It is essential to conduct and manage fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.Your core duties will include:Collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant project workParticipate in all aspects of permitting, site investigation, and remediation projectsCommunicate and work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agenciesPerform fieldwork which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, or subcontractor oversightAssisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandumConduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)Prepare periodic status/program reportsAnalyze and interpret field dataUtilize basic software skills such as Leapfrog, and ArcGISTo be successful in this role, you should possess strong written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated, and exhibit independent thinking. You should be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely.
