Job summary

True Anomaly seeks an exceptional Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of spacecraft modeling, simulation, and distributed ground control across the stack. This high-impact leadership role shapes the product direction and technical roadmap while mentoring engineers and driving architectural excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with HTML/CSS and modern TS/JS, including performance considerations.
• Deep React expertise and understanding of large-scale frontend architectures.
• Expertise with Elixir, BEAM internals, and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems with fault tolerance.
• Proven testing strategy leadership across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience building and evolving component libraries and design systems.
• Experience with API contracts and multi-stack integration (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets).
• History implementing Git-based workflows, code reviews, and scalable engineering culture.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning frontend, backend, and architecture.
• Define the full-stack technical roadmap and establish scalable patterns across React/TypeScript and Elixir.
• Act as primary technical decision-maker for cross-stack architecture and standards.
• Identify systemic debt and lead multi-quarter initiatives to address it.
• Mentor engineers and elevate the organization’s technical capabilities.
• Partner with executive, product, design, and space operations teams on strategy.
• Drive engineering efficiency with metrics, tooling, and processes for reliability.
• Create documentation and architectural decision records to scale learning.
• Represent full-stack perspective in planning and resourcing; develop future technical leaders.
