Job description

Our client is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to play a key role in building next-generation products at the intersection of full-stack engineering, AI/ML, audio data, and research. You’ll take ownership of complex engineering initiatives from concept through production, working closely with researchers, product teams, and Operations to rapidly build, test, and improve products used to understand and work with large-scale audio datasets. This is an opportunity for a hands‑on technical leader who enjoys moving quickly, solving ambiguous problems, mentoring engineers, and building polished products from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of full-stack product features from ideation through deployment.
  • Design and build scalable systems capable of processing terabytes of audio data.
  • Develop solutions that transform complex audio datasets into useful, actionable customer insights.
  • Deploy and evaluate LLM- and DSP-based technologies to improve customer workflows and data understanding.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers and Operations to iterate on data‑collection workflows and interfaces.
  • Make architectural and technical decisions that support scale, reliability, and rapid product iteration.
  • Establish engineering standards, development practices, and technical processes as the team grows.
  • Mentor engineers and provide hands‑on technical leadership across projects.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies across software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML, and signal processing.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in product-focused full-stack software engineering.

Required Skills

  • Strong foundation in modern web development and experience taking products from prototype to production.
  • Proven track record of building customer‑facing products and scalable engineering solutions.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments with a high degree of ownership.
  • Strong product mindset with a focus on building intuitive, polished, production‑grade experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or leading engineering initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, research, product, and operations teams.
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and domains.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in digital signal processing (DSP) or speech/audio technologies.
  • Experience building or deploying machine learning models in production.
  • Experience working with LLMs, AI‑powered applications, or data‑intensive systems.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in a high‑growth environment, either as a technical lead or engineering manager.
  • AI/ML or audio experience is not required — a strong engineering foundation and willingness to learn are more important.

Why Join?

  • Own meaningful end‑to‑end engineering initiatives.
  • Work on technically challenging problems involving AI, audio, data, and large‑scale systems.
  • Collaborate directly with researchers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Help shape engineering practices and architecture as the organization scales.
  • Have a significant impact on both the product and engineering culture.

If you're a hands‑on Staff Engineer who enjoys building, experimenting, mentoring, and solving complex technical problems, we'd love to hear from you.
