Workstream, a mission-driven HR, payroll, and hiring platform for hourly workers, seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our hybrid team in Lehi, Utah. You will design and build scalable, high-availability applications using Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript while embracing TDD and CI/CD practices.

The role requires 8–12+ years of experience, strong fundamentals, and comfort with SQL/NoSQL databases, AWS, and distributed systems.

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time, hybrid position with 1 to 2 days a week in-office to support close cross-functional collaboration.

Day In The Life

You are a seasoned Software Engineer with a strong background in full-stack application development. Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well-scoped product features. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams. You advocate for and practice test-driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Who You Are

• 8 to 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript, with experience developing full-stack, high-performance, and high-availability applications.
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience building scalable systems and test-driven CI/CD with a commitment to quality software development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, have comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process between SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
• Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity.

• Salary Range: In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $140,000 to $170,000 in Lehi, Utah. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
