Job summary

Careerflow Human Data Labs seeks a Staff Research Engineer to advance frontier AI systems by building datasets, RL environments, and evaluation tools.

You will design rigorous experiments, develop research-grade prototypes, and collaborate with Research, Engineering, Product, and Operations to translate ideas into scalable applications. Strong Python and ML framework experience are essential, with a PhD or Master's in a related field and 7+ years of research engineering work.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in AI/CS or related field; exceptional equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of professional research engineering in ML/frontier AI systems.
• Strong Python programming and ability to prototype rapidly.
• Experience mentoring engineers or researchers and providing technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Investigate capabilities, limitations, and training methods of frontier AI systems.
• Design rigorous experiments and evaluate models with modern ML tools.
• Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Product, and Operations to translate findings into scalable applications.
• Share findings via reports, publications, or open-source work.
