Job summary

Analog Devices in Durham, NC seeks a Senior FPGA System Development Engineer to deliver high-quality SoC FPGA solutions for aerospace, defense and communications. You will design, constrain, verify, and troubleshoot FPGA designs, work with cross-functional teams, and contribute to lab evaluations and demonstrations.

You should have strong FPGA/SoC programming experience, RTL design, and scripting skills in C/C++, Python and TCL. The role offers growth in a global, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical and/or computer engineering.
  • Strong FPGA and/or SoC programming experience.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Experience with RTL HW programming and digital design.
  • C/C++, Python, TCL coding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement SoC FPGA programs using HDL, IP, and embedded software.
  • Constrain FPGA designs and perform timing analysis.
  • Verify FPGA designs with behavioral models.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve FPGA design/hardware issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, document, and present results.
  • Support evaluation and testing of new products in the lab/ATE.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across environments.

The goal of the FPGA Team is to develop and deploy high-quality FPGA and SoC solutions to internal and external customers. To enable the customers to evaluate and test ultra-wideband products, and ultimately to build their own systems and end-products for multiple applications and market segments. Included but not limited to electronic test equipment, wideband communication systems, and Aerospace & Défense subsystems.The role requires an energetic and motivated individual with strong communication, organizational, coordination and technical skills who works well in a diverse environment across global team and geographically distributed organization.Responsibilities include, but not limited to :Design and implement SoC FPGA programs using HDL, IP, and embedded softwareConstrain FPGA designs and perform timing analysisPerform FPGA design verification using behavioral modelsTroubleshoot and resolve problems on FPGA designs and hardwareParticipate in design reviews, create documentation, present information, and produce demonstrationsSupport the evaluation and test of new products in the lab and on ATEWork in a cross-functional team environment that includes close interaction with digital design engineers, product/test engineers and applications/marketing engineersRequired:Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical and/or computer engineeringGood experience with FPGA and/or SoC programmingMotivated and creative problem solver with good writing, presentation, coordination and overall communication skillsHas a bias for action and works in collaboration with others to deliver high-quality resultsVision to work with leading edge technology and push it forwardAbility to work simultaneously on multiple projects and set priorities for the team to deliver on schedulePreferred:FPGA and/or SoC experience that includes high-speed signaling, electronics design and embedded softwareExperience with Intel-Altera and/or AMD-Xilinx devices and tools, especially Gigabit Transceivers and high-speed memoryExperience with RTL HW programming and digital design in generalExperience with C/C++, Python and TCL and software designDemonstrated leading and coordinating teams and/or team members to success#LI-PG1For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
