SoundEarth Strategies, Inc., an environmental consulting firm headquartered in Seattle, Washington, is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer to join our team of Environmental Scientists, Geologists, and Engineers. We provide responsive, client-oriented results that anticipate the needs and expectations of our clients in the areas of remedial design and implementation, due diligence, site characterization, stormwater compliance services, and hazardous material management.
• Work on assignments that require performing field activities and office work supporting the development of work products.
• Comply with company Health and Safety (H&S) protocols. Develop Site-Specific H&S Plans and participate in or lead daily site H&S tailgate meetings.
• Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface exploration, and identify important site features.
• Provide oversight and documentation of subsurface investigation activities (e.g., test pits, soil borings, monitoring well installation) and perform soil vapor, soil and groundwater monitoring/sampling with applicable ASTM International standards, company standard operating procedures, and other industry standard guidelines. Use various environmental instrumentation and equipment during fieldwork.
• Compile, analyze, manage, and document field, instrumentation, geological, and/or environmental data using field forms and spreadsheets.
• Perform engineering observation and documentation of environmental remediation activities, including UST removals, remedial excavations, construction of remediation systems, and remedial injections. Perform operation/maintenance and monitoring of mechanical remediation systems, including vapor mitigation, soil vapor extraction, air/biosparging, etc.
• Assist with the design of soil vapor, soil, and groundwater remediation systems (i.e., physical/mechanical, in situ chemical and biological applications, thermal treatment, etc.).
• Assist with the preparation of work products, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Feasibility Studies and Cleanup Action Plans, Project Manuals (technical specifications and drawings), and Cleanup Action Reports. Assist with the preparation of conceptual based and engineering cost estimates.
• Assist with the preparation of proposals/work orders and associated cost estimates.
