Job summary

Celestica, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of complex, cross-domain technical solutions. The role requires directing a sizable engineering team and overseeing project planning, schedules and customer interactions to ensure successful outcomes.

You will review requirements, develop deployment plans, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust, scalable systems for data centers and related infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7–10 years of related engineering experience in systems/applications validation or similar roles.
  • Proven track record leading technical teams and delivering complex integrated solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and implementation of complex technical solutions across multiple domains.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable engineering team.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling and deployment strategies for system programs.
  • Review customer requirements and act as primary customer contact when needed.

Summary
Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
  • Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).
  • Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contract.
  • Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develops deployment strategies and plans.
  • Leads the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinates site-wide deployment efforts.
  • May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
  • Research systems ideas and draw up plans for these systems
  • Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Architecture of solution: Divide up tasks for various engineering teams to execute taking into consideration requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system design and field support.
  • Test, simulate and measure (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
  • Solve complex problems
  • Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information
  • Recommend system modifications
  • Create reports and documentation
