Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions in Ohio seeks a Staff Design Engineer to join our team in a consultative role. You will review project plans, develop product solutions, and prepare submittal drawings and calculations while advising on integrating Contech's products into site plans.

You will conduct structural, hydraulic, and geotechnical analyses, support drainage for CMP and plastic pipe, and collaborate with in-house engineers, CAD Techs, Sales/Marketing, and external engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree.
• 1-2 years of experience in civil site projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• AutoCAD skills proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and provide design services.
• Develop product solutions and prepare submittal drawings and calculations.
• Offer technical advice to support the integration of Contech's products into site plans.
• Conduct structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and geotechnical reviews.
• Provide drainage support for products such as corrugated metal pipe and plastic pipe.
• Work closely with in-house engineers, CAD Techs, Sales/Marketing Team, and external engineers.
• Provide technical support to Operations/Manufacturing team for proper fabrication.
• Coordinate efforts with field sales staff and manufacturing team.
• Offer training and guidance to the team.
• Check work produced by team members for accuracy.
• Assist in the development of training programs and aids for Contech's products.
• Maintain professional relationships and attend industry trade shows, seminars, and continuing education courses.
• Contribute to the writing and development of technical papers and product literature.

About the Role

• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• AutoCAD skills proficiency preferred.
• Some exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
