Job summary

Google Cloud engineers design and deliver next-generation storage solutions within the GDC air-gapped ecosystem, supporting stateful applications across data centers, edge, and cloud environments.

You will work on high-performance file and block storage, implement robust access control, and collaborate across teams to scale architectures while mentoring junior engineers and improving development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade file and block storage architectures.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with storage performance characterization, throughput benchmarking, or latency optimization using industry-standard tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and architect core file, block, and advanced AI/ML storage solutions within the GDC air-gapped ecosystem.
• Define, isolate, and optimize storage performance to meet IOPS, throughput, and latency benchmarks with secure multi-tenant environments.
• Build and enhance observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation capabilities for high-availability storage operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across organizations to scale the GDC architecture under growing demands.
• Mentor engineers and establish robust software development processes and governance.
