Job summary

Sage Products, a business unit within Stryker, is seeking a Staff Engineer for the New Product Development team in the R&D department. You will design, develop, verify, and launch medical devices from concept to launch, collaborating with multiple disciplines to ensure safety and effectiveness.

The hybrid role is based in Cary, IL. Responsibilities include leading prototyping, testing, and design reviews while applying clinical knowledge to inputs and VoC sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical) required.
  • Minimum of four years of engineering experience.
  • Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.
  • Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.
  • Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.
  • Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.

We are hiring a Staff Engineer to join our New Product Development team within the R&D department at Sage Products, a business unit within Stryker. This role will involve the design and development of new medical devices that support the mission of Sage – creating simple interventions with extraordinary outcomes. The individual will be involved throughout the entire product development cycle from concept to launch, working closely with other disciplines within R&D to ensure products are developed effectively, safely and efficiently. This a hybrid based role in Cary, IL.

What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment.
United States of America Pay Ranges:
  • US10: $98,200 - $163,700 USD Annual.
