Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer in Metrology for DRAM to lead startup, development and optimization of metrology processes targeting quality and reliability improvements.

You will apply failure analysis and statistical methods to diagnose and resolve assembly issues, while coordinating equipment and material evaluations for new product introductions. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Applied Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 2 years of experience required.

  • Lead yield improvement, cost reduction and productivity initiatives across the metrology workflow.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly process problems using FA, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodologies.

Responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Handle new process baseline qualifications and managing. Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems. Coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluation and optimization initiatives and implement changes at process step. Lead and participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities. Validate and fan out new process baseline qualified, including new processes, tools and materials for new product introduction. Support site to site portability. Manage and audit material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives. Support internal and external audits. Develop new or modified process formulations, define processing or handle equipment requirements and specifications, and review processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Coordinate design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. Plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approach in the processing or development of new or improved processes.

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Applied Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:
  • 1. KLA Archer tools, including recipe set up, data interpretation and tool operation;
  • 2. ASML YieldStar tools, including recipe set up, data interpretation and tool operation;
  • 3. Hitachi CDSEM skill including recipe set up, data interpretation and tool operation;
  • 4. AMAT Verity CDSEM skill including recipe set up, data interpretation and tool operation;
  • 5. Photolithography, including photo MTD setup from photo metrology and analysis, yield enhancement initiatives for assist photo scanner MTD enablement;
  • 6. Statistical analysis programs such as JMP to overlay critical dimension data, evaluate gauge capability of metrology tools, design of experiments, and statistical process control.
