Job summary

Celestica Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Process will design, develop, deploy and optimize manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost and delivery goals for Celestica and customer products.

Responsibilities include managing customer-specific process development projects, coordinating teams, and directing work across the product life cycle from concept to obsolescence; contributing to best practices and global support.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of related experience.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in manufacturing process development or similar roles.

• Understand the customer's technical roadmap and identify/manage all new customer-specific process development projects.
• Manage technical aspects for all new customer-specific process development projects.
• Develop the scope of all technical work, coordinate the team, direct work assignments and assist with problem resolution for the full customer product life cycle support.
• Evaluate potential manufacturing impact for each design concept.
• May serve as Subject Matter Expert in a sub-area of manufacturing.
• Develop best practice standards and participate in industry standards work; provide training and global application support.

Summary

The Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Process is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers products.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for understanding the customers technical roadmap and identifying and managing all new customer-specific process development projects.

• Manage technical aspects for all new customer-specific process development projects.

• Develop the scope of all technical work, coordinate the team, direct work assignments and assist with problem resolution for the full customer product life cycle support for all manufacturing technical issues related to the customers product(s) from product conception to product obsolescence.

• Evaluate potential manufacturing impact for each design concept.

• May also be considered the Subject Matter Expert in the company for specific sub-sector of manufacturing.

• Responsible for the best practice standard development, participate in Industry organizations for developing the standards and provide training and application support globally.
