Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking a Staff Engineer II for Oracle-focused ERP/EPM solutions in Arizona. The role involves leading design and reliability efforts, collaborating with business partners and cross-functional teams to deliver robust Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM implementations.

The ideal candidate has extensive Oracle Cloud ERP/EPM experience, leadership and project coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with a focus on governance and compliance.

Job Title: Staff Engineer II - Oracle

Location: Block 23

What you'll do: As a Staff Engineer II, you'll provide expertise in a suite of technical tools and products in Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM domain to ensure solutions are safe, secure, compliant and reliable. You'll identify, develop and support needs, as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. AS the Staff Engineer, II, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for Oracle team.

• Lead the strategic planning of a project as it relates to technical solution design.
• Design and implement engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
• Design transaction specific application performance monitoring metrics that can be captured and passed to business partners.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations and procedures while also ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards. Develop desktop procedures when needed that others follow.
• As a Senior Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM Engineer, you will work closely with business partners, developers, product owners, systems analysts, and various implementation teams to define and deliver effective business systems and solutions for applications
• Being part of the solution delivery team helping with implementation and upgrade, perform issue troubleshooting, and drive resolution working with other IT teams for the corporate systems

What you'll need:

• 7+ years of related experience especially with Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM applications
• Bachelor's degree in related field required
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
• May require up to 25% travel.
• Understand Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud EPM finance and accounting flows to work effectively with business stakeholders
• Ability to code using Oracle framework possessing sound knowledge of BIP reports, OTBI, SmartView, and FDI
• Create and maintain system architecture, data flow, functional flow documents, and other technical artifacts working with domain architects, business, and other technology teams for new solutions being implemented
• Collaborate closely with the wider technology teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues and understand overlaps of teams and applications

• Assist with support activities for existing solutions, including regular business interactions and facilitating delivery of improvements and bug fixes as required
• Sound knowledge of core Oracle Cloud ERP Finance modules – AP, Expenses, AHCS, GL, FA, AR, Advanced Collections
• Sound knowledge of Oracle Cloud EPM applications – ARCS, EDMCS, FCCS
• Understanding of Incident Management processes, including Root Cause Analysis processes and documentation
• MS Azure and other cloud experience preferred

• Familiar with Active Directory, Security Groups and Service Accounts
• Familiar with Agile methodologies and Project Management processes
• Hands-on software development and/or implementation experience preferred
• Experience of Lucid chart, ADO, or similar tools preferred
