Staff Engineer I

Department: Midwest North-Water Services

Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting To: Mark Delisio

Compensation: $62,000 - $75,000 / year

As an Entry Level Civil Engineer in Water Collection Systems, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of water collection systems. You will work with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project success. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain experience and grow. The candidate should have experience with collection systems, drainage infrastructure, waterways, and a background in hydraulics is a plus. The role requires teamwork, site visits, confined space entries, attention to detail, motivation, critical thinking, and schedule management.

This position is based in our Mentor, OH office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing and developing water collection systems, including pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for submissions.
  • Collaborate with teams for project planning and execution.
  • Participate in meetings and provide technical input.
  • Perform data analysis and modeling to support decisions.
  • Adhere to safety standards and best practices.
  • Conduct field assessments, participate in confined space entries, flow monitoring, and data collection.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor's in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, hydraulic modeling software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally 80 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
