Job summary

Geocal, Inc. seeks staff engineer to coordinate geotechnical investigations, log soil/bedrock samples, and assist with reports under a Professional Engineer. Responsibilities include bridge inspection support, field sketches, maps, and data entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• High school diploma with experience considered.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Good basic computer skills (file management, internet, spreadsheets).
• Good driving record.
• Friendly disposition and strong ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and carry out geotechnical investigations including drilling, logging, sample collection and permits.
• Perform and supervise lab testing and assist with geotechnical reports.
• Travel to job sites for bridge inspection programs and field data collection.
• Prepare field sketches, maps and captions; input data into client databases.
• Compile and check final reports for delivery.
