Staff Engineer – Energy Infrastructure Projects

Overview

Join a mission-driven engineering team advancing utility-scale energy infrastructure from natural gas and thermal systems to solar, battery storage, and emerging technologies. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong thermal engineering expertise looking to shape sustainable energy projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply thermal engineering expertise to evaluate and design energy infrastructure projects.
• Support site selection, technology assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate on system designs, regulatory strategy, permitting, and interconnection.
• Develop technical materials for financing, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure technical continuity through development and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field
• 5–10 years’ experience in energy systems or power generation
• Strong foundation in thermal engineering: thermodynamics, heat transfer, and system design
• Familiar with power plant operations and grid interconnection
• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings (P&IDs, site plans, one-lines)
• Knowledge of codes and standards (IBC, ASME, NEC, NFPA)
• Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills

Preferred

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil, PVSyst, Excel/VBA, and project management tools
• PMP certification or equivalent experience
• PE license preferred
