Northrop Grumman is currently looking for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer Level 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters.
This position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. Applicants must have a current US Government DoW Secret security clearance with the ability to be cleared for Special Access Program (SAP)
The RTOS Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for defining and leading the architecture of complex real‑time embedded software running on RTOS‑based platforms for weapon systems. This role focuses on deterministic behavior, schedulability, resource optimization, and robust inter-process communication for mission‑critical systems. The architect partners and collaborates closely with project teams, external partners, and customers to ensure the software architecture meets stringent safety, security, and performance requirements.

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
