Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Electrical Systems Architect for the SEIT EDI team in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel program. The role requires strong experience in system architecture, interconnect diagrams, and cross-segment wiring design.

You will review ICDs, schematics, and data sheets, perform trade studies, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure cohesive design and program milestones. Relocation may be offered.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship with active Secret clearance or higher (SAP cert possible).
  • 12 years' relevant experience with Bachelor's, 10 with Master's, 8 with PhD.
  • Proficiency with CAD/ECAD tools for cable design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capital interconnect and logic diagrams for weapon system architecture.
  • Support electrical design of cross-segment weapon system hardware.
  • Review ICDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, part data sheets and trade studies.
  • Perform research, trades, evaluations, and system integration in electrical systems.
  • Propose COAs and paths forward for gap/problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with other integration teams and participate in milestones.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Systems Architect for the SEIT EDI team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This role may offer a competitive relocation package.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop Capital interconnect & logic diagrams in support of Weapon System Architecture development.
  • Support electrical design of cross-segment Weapon System hardware.
  • Review engineering deliverables such as interface control documents (ICDs), system one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, part data sheets, interconnect connect diagrams, specifications, electrical analysis and trade studies.
  • May perform research, trade studies, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, cables, connectors, power systems, test equipment, and more.
  • Develop courses of action (COAs) and recommended path forward in support of gap/problem resolution.
  • Attend internal program, and/or technical exchange meetings.
  • Support formal program milestone events.
  • Working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative settings across all levels.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination between electrical design and other integration teams.
  • Coordinate electrical system engineering content and work products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 12 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 10 years experience; PhD with 8 years experience
  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification
  • Proficiency with CAD/ECAD tools for cable design (Siemens Capital: Architect, Logic, Harness)
  • 4+ years of experience in creating system engineering architecture models, interconnect diagrams, Capital electrical drawings, and one-line diagrams.
  • 4+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Requirements management/analysis/allocations including the use of DOORS or equivalent Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDraw
  • Interface development experience
  • Architecture development experience
  • Verification including verification method determination, RVAM development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of systems modeling, electrical design, and performance characteristics (e.g., voltage rating, current carrying capacity, shielding)
  • Familiarity with industry/Military standards and codes (IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEC 60332, IEEE 299, UL, NEC 770, ISO 9001)
  • Knowledgeable of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX, especially for cable routing
  • Ability to read Cameo models, create system block diagrams, create interconnect drawings
  • Experience managing design revisions, change orders, and interfacing with cross functional teams.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.
  • Experience maintaining and reporting status of program activities to leadership.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
