Job description

Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

Whatwe need

As a Staff Quality Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader and subject matter expert for electrical and electronic quality acrossSymboticproducts. You will provide quality leadership throughout the design, development, industrialization, production, and field lifecycle of complex electrical and electronic systems, including electronic control units, power distribution systems, PCBAs, electrical assemblies, and related subsystems.

In this role, you will partner closely with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality toidentifyand mitigate quality and reliability risks early in the product development lifecycle. You willprovidetechnical guidance on electrical requirements, design risks, failure modes, manufacturing controls, validation strategies, and supplier quality to ensure robust product performance and production readiness.

You will lead quality planning and risk management activities for new product introductions and production transfers while providing technical leadership for complex electrical quality issues affecting existing products. The Staff Quality Engineer will lead and influence APQP activities from early design and prototype development through production ramp and field performance, ensuring customer, regulatory, reliability, and internal engineering requirements are effectively addressed.

This role will also analyze field performance data, electrical subsystem failures, robot health metrics, supplier defects, and site quality trends toidentifysystemic improvement opportunities and drive increased product reliability.

Whatwe do

The Quality Engineering team ensuresSymboticproducts successfully transition from development into production and continue to perform reliably throughout their lifecycle. The team partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Test to embed quality planning, risk management, defect prevention, and process validation into product development and production.

Quality Engineering provides technical leadership from early product design through prototype builds, productionramp, and field deployment. Byidentifyingrisks early, challenging designs constructively, applying robust quality and reliability methods, and using manufacturing and field data to drive continuous improvement, the team helps ensure reliable product launches and consistent system performance.

Whatyou’lldo
  • Serve as the Quality Engineering subject matter expert for electrical and electronic systems, providingtechnical guidance across design, development, manufacturing, supplier, and field activities.
  • Lead quality planning and deliverables for new product introductions and production transfers, including APQP, DFMEA/PFMEA alignment, CTQ definition, Control Plans, validation, and production readiness.
  • Partner with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and Supplier Quality toidentifyand mitigate design, component, process, and reliability risks early in the product lifecycle.
  • Lead complex electrical and electronic failure investigations using structured root-cause methodologies, drivecorrectiveand preventive actions, and verify effectiveness.
  • Evaluate manufacturing and supplier readiness through process validation, capability studies, measurement system analysis, production controls, andappropriate partapproval processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing, supplier, test, and field performance data toidentifyemerging quality and reliability risks and drive systemic product and process improvements.
  • Influence design-for-quality, manufacturability, testability, and reliability decisions by providing data-driven technical recommendations to engineering andprogramteams.
  • Establish and improve quality standards, methods, and best practices for electrical and electronic products while driving lessons learned across product platforms.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Quality Engineers and act as a senior technical resource for cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate significant quality risks, technical findings, and recommended actions to engineering, program, and senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal quality systems, engineering requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
