Job summary

IonQ, based in Louisville, Tennessee, is seeking a Staff Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to own the full-cycle design of PCBA projects from concept to flight readiness. The engineer will collaborate with RF, mechanical, software, and FPGA/SoC teams to ensure the successful integration of high-reliability electronics for space applications.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, a bachelor's or master's degree in the field, and demonstrated leadership in designing flight-quality hardware.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing and debugging PCBAs.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Strong documentation habits and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of full-cycle PCBA designs from concept to flight readiness.
• Lead board-level bring-up and debugging.
• Provide critical input to schedule planning and hardware requirements.
