Job description

Overview

As a Staff Electrical Engineer, you will lead FPGA development within an embedded control system involving microcontrollers, motors, and sensors. You will be responsible for RTL coding, simulation, hardware integration, and cross-functional collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and firmware teams.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and document design requirements
  • Perform RTL coding, simulation, and FPGA implementation
  • Assign FPGA pins based on hardware design
  • Develop control algorithms for motor drivers and analog front-end circuits
  • Conduct hardware bring-up and troubleshooting
  • Support firmware integration and system testing
  • Apply risk and failure analysis techniques
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and QMS standards
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in FPGA design and mainstream development tools
  • Strong RTL coding skills in VHDL and Verilog
  • Experience with embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Solid understanding of electronics and circuit design
  • Skilled in lab instrumentation and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or 6 years with a Master’s degree)
  • Experience with embedded MCU hardware, motor drivers, signal conditioning, and biomedical sensor interfaces is a plus
