Job summary

ComPsych seeks a Staff EAP Counselor for its Bloomington, IL office. This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with multiple start times.

An active clinical license is required, and duties include in-person and telehealth counseling, with diverse client populations and a focus on various life stressors and mental health concerns. The successful candidate will provide goal-oriented therapy, manage a caseload, ensure safety, and contribute to a supportive clinical team culture.

Qualifications

• Master level licensed clinician and independent license required; 3+ years of clinical services experience.
• Clinical assessment experience in mental health and crisis stabilization required.
• Clinical assessment experience in substance use preferred.
• Direct counseling services and solution-focused therapy experience required.
• Proficiency in treating diverse mental health conditions and client populations.
• Telehealth service delivery experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong clinical judgment, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Flexible work hours (evenings) desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a caseload of primarily individual therapy with occasional couples therapy.
• Delivers high-quality counseling to promote positive outcomes and client satisfaction.

• Ensures safety with risk assessments and safety planning.
• Continues professional knowledge through review of treatment trends and interventions.
• Manages scheduling and follow-up communications with clients between sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

• As a Staff EAP Counselor, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical counseling services in a Bloomington, IL office location.
• Monday-Friday schedule, shift options are 8:00am-4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm.
• An active clinical license is required.
• Service delivery is focused on offering in-person counseling but will also include telehealth counseling and additional clinical and counseling related services as needed.
• You will have the opportunity to work with diverse clients as well as diverse presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, stress/burnout, grief/loss, relationship concerns, managing life stressors/transitions, and more.
• You will be joining a team of clinicians who care deeply about the service they provide and offer a supportive culture for one another as well.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides goal oriented in-person and telehealth EAP counseling utilizing brief, solution-focused interventions to clients presenting with various clinical symptoms, stressors, and severity of symptoms.
• Maintains a caseload of assigned clients, primarily individual therapy, with occasional requests for couples therapy.
• Delivers quality and effective counseling services in a manner that promotes positive outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Provides culturally competent care to diverse clients (age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, disability status, etc.).
• Ensures safety for clients who present at risk to harm self/others; able to conduct effective risk assessments and safety plans.
• Continually strengthens professional knowledge base through review of trends related to effective treatment modalities, evidence-based interventions, and other areas of clinical expertise development.
• Manages client caseload independently in terms of scheduling follow-up appointments and communicating with clients in-between sessions as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 /year. This represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, and scheduled hours.
