Job summary

Alluxio is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in distributed systems to lead and evolve the Alluxio project from Foster City, CA. You will tackle challenges in distributed data services, memory efficiency, thread concurrency, and caching policies while guiding the team from concept to implementation.

You will contribute to architecture, drive the technical direction, and collaborate with product management to scale systems to thousands of nodes with strong data durability and high availability.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in a technical leader role required.
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Experience in software development with Java, C/C++, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve the Alluxio project in distributed systems.
• Develop innovative solutions to scale systems to thousands of nodes and ensure durability/HA.
• Contribute to product architecture and drive technical direction with product management.
• Mentor team members to take ideas from concept to completion.
