Job summary

Avamere Rehabilitation at Ridgemont seeks a Staff Development Coordinator RN to plan, implement, and evaluate training for nursing staff to ensure clinical competency and compliant resident care. The role spans orientations, in-service education, and competency assessment in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include needs assessment, curriculum development, onboarding oversight, and ongoing coaching. Requires RN license in WA, CPR/BLS, and experience with CMS/state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in this state.
  • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
  • Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and/or critical care clinical setting.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
  • Knowledge of CMS, State and Federal regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Staff Development Coordinator RN

Status: Full time
Schedule: Days, Monday - Fridayt
Wage: $44 - $55/hour

A Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) in a skilled nursing facility is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training programs for all levels of nursing staff, ensuring clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality resident care by orientations, designing and delivering in-service education, and assessing staff performance to identify and address training needs, all while collaborating with nursing leadership to maintain standards of care within the facility.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development
  • Identify training needs for all staff levels (CNAs, LVNs/LPNs, RNs) based on resident care requirements, regulatory standards, and performance evaluations.

Quality Improvement
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives related to staff training and resident care.
  • Analyze data from incident reports, resident assessments, and quality audits to inform training needs.
Compliance Management
  • Ensure all staff training programs adhere to state and federal regulations, including documentation requirements.
  • Monitor staff certifications and licenses to maintain compliance.
Staff Development and Coaching
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to staff members to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
  • Identify potential leaders and provide opportunities for advancement within the facility.
Requirements
  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
