Job summary

VSA Partners in Chicago is seeking a mid-level designer to translate clients’ stories into compelling visuals across print and digital media. You’ll collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team under a Creative Director to deliver campaigns on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in an agency, a design degree or portfolio-focused education, and strong typography skills. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma is required, and you’ll join a collaborative, growth‑oriented studio.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of proven experience in the agency space.
• A bachelor’s degree in Design or a portfolio school education focused on Design/art direction.
• You’re a conceptual creative problem solver applying ideas across channels with focus on craft (kerning matters!).
• You know your way around both the Adobe Suite and Figma.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

• Assist with the creation of visual designs, typography, visual concepts, logos, and icons working under the direction of a Creative Director or Associate Creative Director.
• Brainstorm creative concepts with the project team (cross-discipline) and help develop original campaigns.
• Integrate ideas across multiple mediums: print, digital and beyond.
• Ideally, you will get direction and run with it. We look for self-starters, go-getters, and other hyphenated-type characters.
• Sell your work—not just to clients, but to your peers and colleagues, too.
• Working on projects and assignments in accordance to established timelines and project briefs and expectations.

• 2-3 years of proven experience in the agency space.
• A bachelor’s degree in Design or a portfolio school education focused on Design/art direction.
  • You’re a conceptual creative problem solver, strategically applying ideas across all channels and you’re dedicated to the craft of design (kerning matters!).
  • You are curious by nature and have interest in expanding your knowledge and skills across animation or digital. Bonus: If you already have experience in either of these.
  • You know your way around both the Adobe Suite and Figma.

• You are rational but innovative and have a naturally curious mind and a passion for applying pixel-perfect design to creative concepts.

Chicago Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $70,000 USD
