Job summary

Google Health Search team is defining the future of AI-generated health guidance and owns core evaluation frameworks, metrics, and methodologies to ensure safe, helpful, and high-quality AI-powered health answers.

You will partner with Product and Engineering to translate data insights into actionable recommendations and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve novel safety and usefulness challenges.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 8 years of work experience using analytics or 6 years with a PhD, including coding and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop advanced analysis, causal inference methods to identify product opportunities.
• Initiate projects inside and across the organization and drive to completion autonomously.
• Frame and solve ambiguous business problems and communicate the solutions effectively.

• Track record of solving unstructured business problems with data science and translating results into impactful business/product recommendations.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze complex problems, and develop data-driven solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

In this high‑impact role on the Google Health Search team, you will define the future of AI‑generated health guidance, a top Alphabet priority. You will develop and own the core evaluation frameworks, metrics, and methodologies that ensure our AI‑powered health answers are safe, helpful, and of the highest quality. Partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders, you will influence strategy and roadmaps by translating complex data insights into actionable recommendations. You will also apply and pioneer advanced statistical, machine learning, and large language model (LLM) techniques to solve novel challenges in the safety and helpfulness of health information.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Research and develop advanced analysis, causal inference analysis of impact, create new methodologies (e.g., LLM‑based method) to identify product opportunities from various data sources, product headroom analysis for key AI features.
• Initiate projects inside and across the organization and drive to completion autonomously.
• Frame and solve ambiguous business problems and communicate the solutions effectively.
• Interact cross‑functionally, be a thought partner and influence a wide range of product stakeholders.
• Communicate clearly and persuasively to influence executive product leadership (VPs and Directors).
