Job summary

Solstice in NYC is hiring its first data engineer to build the data foundation for our media activation and measurement products. You will own the cloud data warehouse, ingestion pipelines, identity mappings, and data quality across partner and internal systems.

Ingest daily logs from DSPs and publishers, reconcile records across identifiers, and create canonical models that connect creative attributes to clicks and longer-lag outcomes such as claims signals.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL experience building and operating production data systems.
• Deep experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, workflow orchestration, and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience ingesting messy third-party data and reconciling records across systems.
• Strong data correctness instincts: validation, lineage, observability, backfills, deduplication, failure recovery.
• Experience designing reliable systems under growing volume and changing contracts.
• Independent judgment with end-to-end ownership and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the cloud data platform for Solstice's media products.
• Ingest daily event and delivery logs from DSPs, publishers, claims-data providers, client systems, and Solstice's content platform.
• Build durable mappings across identifiers, campaigns, audiences, assets, and creative elements.
• Handle hard third-party data cases: de-aggregation, off-list records, duplicates, late-arriving data, schema drift, backfills.
• Create canonical data models connecting creative attributes to clicks and outcomes.
• Build reliable batch and event-driven pipelines with lineage, idempotent processing, and data-quality checks.
• Make partner integrations repeatable with APIs, secure file transfer, validation, reconciliation, and audit trails.
• Provide clean datasets and services supporting measurement, attribution, and learning loops.
• Own reliability, security, and cost of the data platform as volume grows.
• Collaborate with media, product, AI, and customer teams to launch campaigns and address discrepancies.
