Job Description: Staff Data Engineer at Storm2

We are partnered with a Series B RegTech firm specializing in blockchain compliance and fraud solutions, seeking a talented Staff Data Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and optimize high-scale relational database systems supporting exabyte-level data volumes.
2. Architect and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across multiple sources.
3. Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical databases.
4. Lead efforts in database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and partitioning to improve system efficiency.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of experience in database design, development, and enterprise-class operations.
2. Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, or Aurora MySQL in high-scale environments.
3. Proven experience in handling exabyte-scale or petabyte-scale databases with performance and cost optimization strategies.
4. Experience in a high-growth, data-driven startup environment.
5. Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, replication, and partitioning.
6. Hands-on experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, etc.).
7. Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development and automation.
