Qualifications

• Massachusetts licensed attorney with jurisdiction to practice law.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and applications.
• 3+ years of workers’ compensation litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently represents Employer/Carrier before Judge of Compensation Claims and presents witnesses at hearings.
• Analyzes complex legal issues and develops defense strategies for WC claims.
• Prepares pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense.
• Provides timely communications and legal advice to clients and claims professionals.
• Uses independent judgment, research, litigation and analytical skills.
• Assists in developing WC claim department training materials.
• Collaborates with WC claims and Law Department on special projects.
• Communicates with Judges, witnesses, opposing counsel and clients per procedures.
• Ensures prompt, efficient disposition of assigned cases.
• Keeps current with market trends; attends CLE seminars.
