Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff CNO Cyber Protection Reverse Engineer to join our Mission Systems team. Places of performance include Annapolis Junction, MD, with opportunities at San Antonio, TX, Aurora, CO, and Carey, NC, reflecting a broad field site network.

You will reverse engineer hardware, software, and operating systems to expose functionality and assist in developing CNO tools, with a strong emphasis on documenting findings, presenting results, and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Network Engineering with extensive reverse engineering experience.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware and software reverse engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications and operating systems to determine functionality and code structure.
  • Document and deliver reports, proofs-of-concept code, prototypes and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Lead reverse engineering efforts to develop CNO tools and techniques.
  • Create and brief technical presentations and reports on assigned projects.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems would like you to join our team as a Staff CNO Cyber Protection Reverse Engineer. Places of performance for this position are Annapolis Junction MD, San Antonio TX, Aurora CO, and Carey, NC.

What You'll Get To Do
  • Perform reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications and operating systems to determine functionality, code structure, and circuit design for use in the design and development of CNO tools and techniques. Document and deliver reports, proof-of-concept code, prototypes and hands‑on demonstrations.
  • Author and participate in technical presentations on assigned projects.
  • The Level 3 CNO Reverse Engineer shall possess the following capabilities: Program in Assembly, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
  • Administer and use hardware and software reverse engineering tools.
  • Program using CNO tools and techniques.
  • Use software version control tools (e.g., Subversion and CVS).
  • Create and brief technical presentations. Provide written reports, proof‑of‑concept code, prototypes, and hands‑on demonstrations of reverse engineering results.
  • Provide/author and participate in technical presentations on assigned projects.
  • Lead reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications and operating systems to determine functionality, code structure, and circuit design for use in the design and development of CNO tools and techniques. Bachelor's degree and experience must be in computer science, information systems, or network engineering.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with 16 years of experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Network Engineering field with 12 years of experience; Master's degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Active and Current TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • At lease 7 years of experience in hardware and software reverse engineering.
  • Experience with computer forensics
  • Experience with in-depth kernel‑level programming
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Experience with CNO Development Concepts

Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
