Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in California seeks a Staff Software Engineer to adapt mobile control software to a cloud environment and implement IaC. The position requires a Secret clearance and on-site work in El Segundo or San Diego.

You will collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, and DevOps in an Agile setting to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions for next-generation platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12 years of Software Engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 10 years of Software Engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 8 years on Software Engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government Secret clearance (in-scope or Continuous Evaluation).
• Experience with infrastructure components (VMs, containers, network, storage, Linux/Windows, IT security).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and micro-services.
• Experience with software-defined networking.
• Experience with a coding or scripting language.
• Experience with a Cloud platform.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Help adapt a suite of mobile control station software applications to a cloud environment.
• Participate in building Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and infrastructure to deploy the solution to a cloud environment.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile software development environment.
