Job summary

American Engineering in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Staff Engineer candidate graduating in 2027 to contribute to civil projects across land development, municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater, and transportation. You’ll work alongside licensed engineers and gain hands-on design experience from day one.

You’ll pursue mentorship, field exposure, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to prepare for your PE license while supporting community-serving projects in the Southeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an expected Spring 2027 graduation.
• Interest in Land Development, Transportation, Municipal Infrastructure, or Water/Wastewater.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification completed or obtainable soon after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers and licensed engineers.
• Assist with design calculations, plan production, and project documentation.
• Participate in field visits and project coordination activities.
• Collaborate across departments to gain broader project exposure.
• Develop technical skills through mentorship and training programs.
• Contribute to projects serving municipalities, developers, and public agencies.
